    John is one of Scotland’s original “Iron men” He started his triathlon career back in the late 80’s when the sport first touched these shores. John is one of the sports early pioneers and has completed many ironman, half ironman and standard distance events over the years.

    John’s day job as a PE teacher means he has a huge background and wealth of sporting knowledge spanning over 30 years. John was a coach and athlete in the Scottish Triathlon Squad in the 90’s and multiple winner of the Scottish Iron distance and long distance triathlon titles, he helped develop and motivate a generation of triathletes and continues to do so today at Stirling Triathlon club, with his constant enthusiasm, positive attitude and support for all those who want to take part and sign up for a healthier lifestyle.

    John focuses his efforts on encouraging others and contributing to the vibrant and fun atmosphere around Stirling Triathlon Club. On the occasions he does race you can be sure he is mixing it with the best and smiling and whooping his way round the race course !
